OOvFPGASIC
Object oriented acceleration on virtual FPGA/GPU
Project description
- A runtime FPGA virtualization and custom chip generation platform where applications in object oriented languages can be analyzed parts of it converted into gateware to run on FPGA card, and custom ASICchips can be built, by using object oriented transpilers (in ANTLR and LLVM possibly) a FPGA hypervisor to load classes via partial reconfiguration for energy efficient and faster software,
- What are the innovation(s)?
* virtualization of FPGAs based on object oriented source code
* custom chip generation from object oriented code
* static analysis of source code to identify FPGA migratable classes
* FPGA hypervisor coordinating multi-tenant policy based access to FPGA
* runtime object migration between CPU/RAM and FPGA
* digital real-time virtual twins (eg: vECU)
* realtime social media analysis
* 6G and mobile edge computing integration, wireless algorithm development
- What are the business impact(s)? * testing automative systems via digital real-time twins
* better 6G algorithms
* faster software by conversion of source code to gateware
* lower energy requirements
* realtime digital twins for automative testing
* shared/better utilization of FPGA resources
* acceleration of existing code bases
* increased security by avoiding CPU bugs, operating system bugs, via keeping some code and data on FPGA
* realtime detection of public disasters via social media
* building of custom chips without deep circuit design knowledge
