Türkiye in ITEA

Since nearly 20 years, Türkiye has been a very strong and stable supporting country with 125 ITEA projects and nearly 2,000 person-years in terms of effort. Thanks to the support of TÜBİTAK and through ITEA, many impactful outcomes have been created by Turkish project partners. While the projects with Turkish participation successfully tackle all ITEA key challenges, there's a focus on addressing issues in the Smart Engineering, Safety & Security and Smart Health domains.

Impact stories with Turkish participation

Impact is one of the main ambitions in ITEA. Impact on business, on the market, on society. This is a key value in ITEA, and impact and potential impact are central during the project lifecycle: in project evaluation, monitoring, closure and in communication of the results. With the (financial) support of national Public Authorities, many ITEA projects have achieved incredible results, which are gathered in ITEA Impact stories.

SPEAR Impact story

By helping companies to optimise their energy usage, SPEAR enables them to manage resources more effectively, to reduce their energy consumption and costs significantly and increase their productivity in a sustainable manner. To achieve this, SPEAR uses real device-provided simulation models to produce highly accurate forecasts for the energy consumption of industrial production processes, developed optimisation algorithms and created a flexible and highly generic optimisation platform.

Traditional media is losing ground to personalised experiences. Children of today choose what to watch at the time they want. And they even produce thousands of pieces of content on their own each day. This trend in the entertainment business can also be seen in society, where city representatives no longer make decisions on their own. Everybody wants to be involved, or at least can be. The MOS2S project took the outdated broadcasting concept to the next level, adding a completely different dimension with features such as instant live broadcasting with the aim to capture as much sensor data as possible and use this data in various applications in order to eventually enhance the experiences of people.

The ITEA project ASSUME (Affordable Safe & Secure Mobility Evolution) deals with the demands of multi-core technologies in highly automated systems. It assures safety-relevant, performance-critical functionality and is traceable throughout the development process via the efficient verification of large systems.

OPTimised Industrial IoT and Distributed Control Platform for Manufacturing and Material Handling

The ITEA project OPTIMUM enables machines of different kinds and from different manufacturers to communicate with each other and their operators, improving the worker’s and equipment’s safety. In recognition of this exceptional achievement, OPTIMUM received the Special ITEA Award of Excellence today in all three nomination categories: Innovation, Standardisation and Market Impact.

PANORAMA

Boosting Design Efficiency for Heterogeneous³ Systems

PANORAMA has created an open-source meta-model and framework that promotes collaboration on software and hardware development using heterogenous tools and practices and without losing control of one’s own data. Clear benefits can be seen in maintainability, reliability and efficiency. Therefore, PANORAMA project received the 2022 ITEA Award of Excellence in the category ‘Standardisation’.
