Instituto Tecnologico de Informatica

ITI is a reference Technological Center specialized in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) Research, Development and Innovation, offering computer industries the possibility of adding new technologies and capabilities developed in R&D&I projects to their products, processes or business. Created in 1994 as an initiative of the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), the Institute of Small and Medium Enterprises of Valencia (IMPIVA), and a group of companies in the IT sector, ITI is classified as a non-profit organization.

Technologies and services are the result of a combination of advanced scientific knowledge and experience in collaboration with companies, generating and transferring the knowledge needed to industry and society evolution.

To carry out our mission, ITI leads and takes part in following activities:  Cooperative projects with companies in the sector of developing basic and applied research projects. Individual projects following ITI’s research lines. Technology spreading actions attending conferences and other forums of scientific and industrial knowledge. Innovation management actions in companies. Promoting ITI’s partner products. Supporting technological spin-offs.

ITI experince is mainly focused on the following three areas:  Computer Science: Ambient Intelligence (Reasoning engine), Computer Vision (2D/3D industrial inspection, Image pattern characterization, facial recognition, Optical Character Recognition, Medical Imaging), Pattern Recognition and Human Language technologies (Automatic and interactive Text translation, voice recognition), Production Optimization (scheduling, planning and routing), Distributed Systems and Cloud Computing, Computer graphics, Augmented and Virtual Reality. SW Engineering: Cloud Computing, Trustworthy Systems, Open Source SW development methodologies, System Virtualization, SW Quality assurance, Certification Processes, SW Consultancy, SOA arcitecture. HW and Communications: Sensor networks, Routing Protocols, Heterogeneous networks, Industrial Networks, Embedded systems and Ambient Intelligence, Context-Awareness.
