University of Gothenburg
The University of Gothenburg (GU) is one of the major universities in Sweden. It tackles society’s challenges with diverse knowledge. 37 000 students and 6 000 employees make the University a large and inspiring place to work and study, with a continuous flow of new knowledge and ideas. The broad-ranging research conducted at the University of Gothenburg has proved successful in many contexts.
The research interests of the 2700 researchers/teachers and doctoral students span from developmental biology, logistics and gender studies to design and marine mammals. The University’s list of renowned researchers includes Nobel Prize winner Arvid Carlsson.
Strong research and attractive study programs attract scientists and students from around the world. The University of Gothenburg is environmentally certified and works actively for sustainable development. With new knowledge and new perspectives, the University contributes to a better future.
GU's Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) is a joint venture with Chalmers Technical University, one of the leading Swedish technical universities. The Software Engineering Division within CSE conducts research that is closely aligned with the goals and topics of ITEA. Expertise in the division includes, but is not limited to, requirements engineering, software architecture, model-driven software engineering, safety and security, change management and software evolution, embedded and automotive software, as well as verification and validation. This is complemented by a strong focus on empirical research methods, research on organizational and human aspects of software engineering, as well as a long and successful history in applied research in collaboration with major Swedish embedded system companies. A particularly successful example is the Software Center, a cooperation between companies and several universities working closely together to accelerate the adoption of novel approaches to software engineering.
