Creation of a demonstrator for rehabilitation monitoring
- Project
- 20050 Secur-e-Health
- Type
- New system
- Description
A deomstrator was developed. It can be used to collect, process and store patient data. The domstrator shows how privacy can be protected, how data can be securely processed and exchanged between systems and how AI can help with the analysis.

- Technical features
The system demonstrates a way of collecting data from sensors worn on the body. This data is collected by a mobile phone. The need for data storage and AI analysis extends the capabilities of a mobile phone. Thus, the data is transmitted to a secure HIS system. The communication is secured using MQTT, Inverted RSA and Diffie-Hellman encryption. In the HIS, the data can be analysed and displayed. This enables individualised treatment.
- Integration constraints
The integration depends on the use case. It can be made available to the public, but will mostly be used internally to provide a secure way to conduct studies and to enhance the OFFIS education programme.
- Targeted customer(s)
As this is a demonstrator showing data collection during the rehabilitation phase, anyone working in rehabilitation research could be a potential customer. In addition, OFFIS works as an educator and the demonstrator will be integrated into the educational environment.
- Conditions for reuse
This is a demonstrator that can be used by anyone interested, but it is not an approved medical device, so it is not ready to be used in everyday patient care. However, it is ready for use in studies and to demonstrate the usability of sensor systems.
