Equa Simulation AB

Equa (www.equa.se) markets simulation tools for engineers. Based on its simulation platform IDA Simulation Environment, Equa develops specialised simulators for engineering applications in the building and construction, energy and process industries as well as customised simulators for individual companies in the same sectors. Equas IDA Indoor Climate and Energy (ICE) is an industry leading application for simulation of energy and indoor conditions in buildings. IDA Tunnel is a product for simulation of environment in tunnels and metro systems. Both tools are critical to engineers that are working on energy efficient solutions all over the world.

The founders of Equa Simulation AB have worked since the late eighties with the development of a simulation environment for modular continuous systems described with differential-algebraic equations (DAEs). Since the mid nineties, the founders have also contributed to the international effort of development of Modelica. The development group presently employs about ten full time staff, most of which hold PhDs in mathematics, physics, numerical methods, HVAC engineering and related subjects. Recently, the company has broadened its activities to also monitor building behaviour. The proposed project aims to connect the simulation with the monitoring activities to create synergies in terms of improved models as well as optimisation of building operation.
