Empower IM Oy joins the ITEA Board
Manchester, 14 May 2019 - Finland has been an active member country since the start of ITEA. Over the past few years, the participation has been increasing very fast and in ITEA’s latest Call Finland is even the #1 contributor in terms of effort.
To consolidate this valuable partnership and to strengthen the ITEA Programme, the ITEA Board has unanimously welcomed the Finnish company Empower IM Oy as a new member. On 14 May, Jan Segerstam, Development Director at Empower IM and Zeynep Sarilar, ITEA Chairwoman, officially signed the Deed of Accession during the EUREKA Global Innovation Summit in Manchester.
Empower IM is a multinational company realising a smarter society through digital innovation. The company develops digital platforms for customer needs utilising profound domain competencies of the service business ranging from enabling energy markets and smart energy information infrastructure to delivering information management systems and services to the energy sector. The company operates in the Nordic and Baltic countries and provides services to over 100 Energy sector companies across the Nordic region. With a unique 24/7 real time control room that combines technical energy asset management with timely energy market transactions, Empower IM is at the heart of enabling the digital energy economy together with major stakeholders in the region.
At the moment, Empower IM is involved in two ITEA 3 Call 5 projects, which have just been labelled. Previously they were involved in the M2MGrids and the SEAS project, the latter being the recipient of an ITEA Award of Excellence for Innovation and Business impact. Within the SEAS project, Empower has incorporated dynamic microgrid strategies into its future roadmap and has enabled interaction of flexible energy resources with the Enerim EMS solution. The Enerim CIS solution that builds on SEAS knowledge in connectivity, is gaining ground as the premier new energy customer information management and billing solution. Currently, it is being deployed in upcoming datahub enabled retail markets in Finland and it is expected to manage over 45% of the national distribution metering points in the coming years.
