20 new ITEA projects labelled; strong focus on AI and Smart Engineering
On 19 March, the ITEA Board labelled 20 innovation projects in ITEA 3 Call 6, with a total of 2708 person years and involving 371 organisations from 19 countries. Representing 49% of all effort, SMEs are again well represented in this new ITEA Call, followed by the large industry (26%), universities (15%) and research institutes (8%).
As could be expected from its current importance, the application of Artificial Intelligence is addressed by a large majority of these 20 projects. As for the ITEA key challenges, Smart Engineering stands out with 10 projects, followed by Smart Health and Safety and Security, both covered by 4 projects.
On country level, Turkey, Germany and the Netherlands represent the highest effort in person years, followed by Finland, Spain and Sweden.
