Impact stories with Swedish participation
Impact is one of the main ambitions in ITEA. Impact on business, on the market, on society. This is a key value in ITEA, and impact and potential impact are central during the project lifecycle: in project evaluation, monitoring, closure and in communication of the results. 04 October 2024In the realm of developing new functionalities, engineers often discover that their profound understanding of the physics governing their products falls short when it comes to crafting functions for embedded targets. While this might result in a never-to-be-realised excellent initial idea of operating and controlling their product in a much smarter way, at the same time it reveals the need for a link between the digital simulation of real-world physics and embedded software leveraging on such physics models. EMPHYSIS established a new open standard - eFMI® - laying the foundation to develop innovative tools, facilitating the realisation of model-based functions directly in embedded software with improved code efficiency.

STARLIT Impact story
01 December 2023The global incidence rate of cancer is expected to grow by 70% over the next two decades, with Radiation Therapy (RT) treatment currently recommended for 52% of new patients. Although radiation oncology has caused a drop in mortality for several cancers, the need remains to reduce side effects. The solution lies in ‘first-time-right’ treatment in which the right dose is given to the tumour while keeping the dose to healthy tissue as low as possible. STARLIT - a follow-up to the award-winning ITEA project SoRTS developed technology to improve treatment accuracy and minimise the unintended dose in image-guided radiation therapy.

TESTOMAT Project Impact story
27 November 2023In software development, reliability and agility often seem like opposing forces. This issue is aggravated by the increasing complexity of software and the constant drive towards faster release cycles for maximum market impact. The goal of ITEA’s TESTOMAT Project was to allow software teams to increase development speed without sacrificing quality. To achieve this goal, the project advanced the state of the art in test automation for software teams, moving towards a more agile and automated development process. The project focused on providing software teams with personalised roadmaps for improving their automated testing in a cost-efficient manner.

If the FPP gets an ITEA Label the Swedish national coordinator should contact Vinnova directly. A national application must be submitted to Vinnova 2 weeks after Label, a template for the national application and the budget distribution can be found on the link above. A full Swedish consortium interview at Vinnova focusing on growth potential for Sweden should be scheduled around 6 weeks after Label.The following funding rules apply for participating organisations:
• SMEs (Note 1) can get funding for up to 50% of their eligible costs.
• Large companies can get funding for up to 30% of their eligible costs.
• Universities and research institutes can get funding for up to 100% of their eligible costs.
The maximum funding from Vinnova is 50% of total budget of the eligible costs for all the participating Swedish organisations.
Note 1:
Swedish SMEs must, in addition to the EU definition, also show that they:
• Have an annual turnover of 1 million SEK according to the latest annual report
• Have a minimum of three employees
