FZI Forschungszentrum Informatik

FZI located in Karlsruhe, is a non-profit contract research organization that concentrates its efforts on novel information technologies for providers of investment and consumer products, of production processes and of information services. The organization of FZI is unique in that it permits professors from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT, formerly University of Karlsruhe), to extend their obligations in academic research in the direction of more market-oriented activities, by providing a technical and organisational infrastructure that is particularly congenial to establishing close contacts to industry and service organizations. For years, FZI is involved in numerous national and international research projects. Most important, FZI offers its partners a unique interdisciplinary environment that fosters joint research among diverse fields of Computer Science, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and Economics within currently 4 research groups.
