Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR)
DLR is the national aeronautics and space research centre of the Federal Republic of Germany. Its extensive research and development work in aeronautics, space, energy, transport and security is integrated into national and international cooperative ventures. DLR has approximately 10700 employees at 30 locations in Germany organised in 55 institutes (status 2022). DLR also has offices in Brussels, Paris, Tokyo and Washington D.C. DLR has a budget of about 1.37 billion Euro for research and operations. Approximately half of this sum comes from competitively allocated third-party funds. The Center also administers the space budget for the German government with about 1.33 billion Euro.
