- Description
Televic Rail and Sirris developed a secure, privacy-protecting CCTV architecture for onboard train applications. The system integrates CCTV cameras, an onboard media server, and cloud-based dashboard tools for monitoring and analysis. While local software on the train enables real-time functionality, the cloud component supports advanced wayside analysis. To address cybersecurity risks and privacy concerns, the architecture includes robust security measures and strict access management, ensuring data protection, privacy compliance, and reliable performance for railway monitoring.

- Technical features
The project has delivered a secure and privacy-preserving architecture and software platform for CCTV systems onboard trains, seamlessly integrated with cloud-based CCTV management. Key technical features include a comprehensive cybersecurity risk assessment to ensure robust protection against threats. The system incorporates advanced user authentication and rights management, enabling tailored access: train drivers can view all footage in real-time, operating companies access privacy-preserved video, and law enforcement obtains uncensored footage when necessary. Automatic annotation of alerts enhances operational efficiency by flagging critical events. The distributed architecture includes cameras placed throughout the train, onboard network video recorders, and dynamic video handling capabilities, such as on-demand high-quality video offloading to the cloud and low-resolution video streaming for real-time monitoring. This ensures secure, efficient, and privacy-compliant video management for rail operations.
