Intelligent Shared Mobility Orchestration Platform

Project description

The Intelligent Shared Mobility Orchestration Platform (iSMOP) addresses systemic inefficiencies in shared electric mobility—particularly in car-sharing and rental services—caused by siloed management of vehicle relocation, charging, and maintenance. Today, these domains operate largely in isolation, resulting in vehicle unavailability during peak demand, underutilised charging infrastructure, and rising operational costs. iSMOP transforms this fragmented landscape through a unified orchestration framework that dynamically coordinates all core operational processes under real-world constraints of capacity, legality, and fairness. At its heart, the project introduces an AI-driven orchestration layer built upon the Electric Car-Sharing Knowledge Graph (eCSKG). This semantic data fabric unifies mobility, energy, and service information into a single decision space, enabling transparent, explainable, and adaptive coordination. The platform integrates demand forecasting, optimization, and incentive learning to balance availability, energy cost, and service efficiency while preserving privacy through edge intelligence. It interfaces with existing operator systems, charging networks, and city infrastructure via open standards such as OCPP, OCPI, and NGSI-LD, ensuring interoperability and scalability across European and South Korean ecosystems. The main goal of iSMOP is to demonstrate that shared electric mobility can be operated as a coherent, self-optimizing system—improving reliability for users, profitability for operators, and sustainability for cities and utilities. Through real-world pilots, the project will prove that integrated orchestration significantly enhances vehicle availability, energy efficiency, and user satisfaction, laying the foundation for a new generation of explainable, trustworthy, and data-driven urban mobility services.
