EOS — LoRa backup tracker add-on for IoT collars without network coverage

- Description
EOS (LoRa-Eos) is a compact LoRa/GPS device designed primarily as an add-on to IoT (4G) dog tracking collars such as Tracker Luna. It provides redundant dog location tracking and keeps operating without cellular network coverage. Within LoRa range of the handler, EOS delivers highly real-time positioning (1-2 km in forest, up to 10 km in open terrain).
At only 57 grams, EOS is by far the lightest dog tracking device of its kind on the market. IP67 waterproofing, a shock-resistant 3 mm housing and an 800 mAh battery suit it for demanding hunting use.
EOS can also be used standalone for dogs working close to the handler, and its attachment mechanism suits people as well. Features include GPS location, pointing alarm, bark indication, OTA firmware updates via Multicommunicator and an energy-efficient radio payload format. Data protection and secure firmware update are designed under the Sa4CPS security work package (WP5), in line with EU Radio Equipment Directive cybersecurity requirements.
Production preparation started in Q3/2026 as Natlink's own commercial activity, building on Sa4CPS prototyping results. Market launch is planned for spring 2027.

- LoRa radio communication (no cellular dependency), 1–2 km forest range / up to 10 km open terrain
- GPS/GNSS positioning
- Bark indication
- Pointing alarm
- OTA firmware updates via Multicommunicator
- Compact, energy-efficient radio payload format
- Data protection and secure firmware update designed under Sa4CPS WP5 (RED / EN 18031)
- IP67 waterproof
- Shock-resistant construction (~3mm housing)
- 800 mAh battery
- Device weight: 57g
- Integration constraints
EOS operates together with Natlink's Multicommunicator, which acts as the receiver for EOS data and relays commands to the device. OTA firmware updates are delivered to EOS via the Multicommunicator. When used as an add-on alongside an IoT collar (e.g. Tracker Luna), both devices operate independently and complement each other. No cellular SIM card is required in EOS.
- Targeted customer(s)
Primary target: hunters using IoT (4G) dog tracking collars who need backup tracking capability in areas without cellular network coverage (forests, remote terrain). Secondary targets: hunters with close-range working dogs seeking a lightweight standalone tracker, and potential use for personnel tracking in outdoor professional contexts. Target markets: Nordic and European hunting markets.
