MindChip is an Estonian deep-tech company specialising in autonomous maritime navigation systems, particularly its flagship product—the AI-powered "Artificial Captain". Founded in 2018, it emerged from a collaboration between TalTech Marine Competence Centre MARTE and MEC Engineering Solutions. The company develops modular systems that integrate radar, AIS, GPS, and machine vision to enable real-time situational awareness and autonomous decision-making for both manned and unmanned vessels. MindChip’s solutions are used in harbor monitoring, fish stock tracking, and defense applications, with ongoing projects involving civil and naval sectors. Their technology supports fully autonomous navigation, remote control, autonomous docking, comprehensive telemetry and mission execution without human intervention, aiming to redefine maritime operations through automation.
