The ARTEMIS & ITEA2 Co-Summit 2010 event took place in Ghent, Belgium, on 26 and 27 October; it was attended by over 600 people, and had the participation of Tecnalia through the DIYSE and SOFIA projects.

On October 26 and 27 the Belgian city of Ghent hosted the ARTEMIS and ITEA 2 Co-summit 2010 which had over 600 participants.

Through its Software and Infotech Units, Tecnalia was awarded the ITEA Exhibition Award 2010 prize for the DIYSE (Do-it-Yourself Smart Experiences) project. The DIYSE stand was voted the best out of all the stands, which ran to over 60, thanks to the fact that it succeeded in getting over a clear message about the aim of the project, which is to combine objects and services over the Internet to improve the life quality of individuals.

At the same event, Tecnalia, through its Software Unit, obtained the ARTEMIS Exhibition Award Co-Summit 2010, thanks to its participation in the SOFIA (Smart Object For Intelligent Applications) project. This prize is awarded to the best project submitted through the Artemis platform.

SOFIA aims to set up an open innovation platform that endeavours to provide everything necessary in connection with architectures, protocols, OSS community, etc.; the goal is to develop applications for intelligent environments, thus covering the needs of the whole value chain. For the second year running, the Software Unit, in collaboration with other partners in the project like Indra or Acciona, achieved this award, which is of great importance in the advance of embedded systems.
