The plugin connects the e-commerce storefront to the recommendation and explainability service through secure, read-only access to the store’s data. It uses catalogue information, product families, long-term customer preferences and real-time session context to deliver personalised, similar-product and complementary-product recommendations. Model training, evaluation and serving are managed locally, preserving control over store data. Each recommendation is supported by structured evidence and translated into clear, customer-facing explanations through Azure OpenAI.
