Visometry GmbH

Visometry GmbH, a spin-off company of Fraunhofer IGD, was founded 2018. The main product of Visometry is the Vision LIB SDK that is supporting model-based Augmented Reality tracking. This technology is licensed by more than 250 customers that are developing specific AR-Apps on basis of VisionLib. The model-based tracking in particular dedicated to professional and industrial applications as it bridges from CAD data to real-time Computer Vision: Pose (position and orientation) of the 3D model is registered in real-time within the camera images that are capturing the real counterpart. Thus, tracking of moving objects within the images of a moving camera can be supported. Visometry employs actually 22 FTEs, thereby 17 engineers working in technical support and continuous development of tracking technologies and Augmented Reality applications. In 2021 Visometry has launched as a second product the Augmented Reality inspection System TWYN (www.twyn.ar). This product is addressing Quality Control engineers and production workers working in the field of Incoming Goods inspections. Thereby, the quality inspection is realized within a few minutes only (while a metrological analysis takes in average 3 hours). Also, the technology can be used with high flexibility, as the AR-inspection can be used outdoors, indoors and also on very large objects (e.g., 20m x 5m x 6m).
