Focus: Industrialisation of Additive Manufacturing

Fraunhofer IAPT stands for enabling sustainable innovations in the field of Additive Manufacturing with our research and development partners. The portfolio includes both collaborative and applied research on process and material level, enabling unique component designs and system solutions up to factory planning and virtualisation along the complete manufacturing road and along all technology maturity levels: From basic idea and feasibility up to industrial implementation in new or existing production environment, all aspects of the Additive Manufacturing road are considered end-2-end holistically without gaps. From the application point of view, special attention is paid to the socially relevant future topics of Life Science, Energy, Mobility as well as Security and Defense. Our overall goal is that large-scale industrial use of Additive Manufacturing technologies will contribute significantly to increased productivity, conservation of resources, resilience and prosperity.
