End user happiness: Channel of communication to strengthen the bond between patients and doctors
SYMPHONY
Patients often have questions about their health, yet information found online is not always reliable and cannot replace professional medical advice. At the same time, long waiting times and inefficient appointment management can delay access to appropriate care. In urgent situations, patients are not always directed to the right specialist in time. Public health crises such as the COVID-19 pandemic have further exposed the limitations of traditional healthcare systems, highlighting the need for scalable and remote care solutions.
Within the scope of the ITEA project SYMPHONY, Aicrum has developed CareMe, a comprehensive telemedicine platform designed to strengthen communication and trust between patients and healthcare professionals. CareMe provides a secure and direct channel for continuous interaction between patients and care teams.
Through the platform, patients can access their appointments, medication schedules, care plans, and medical records in a single secure environment. The platform offers reminders, personalised recommendations, test results, and historical health data. It also integrates with wearable devices and external medical equipment, enabling real-time monitoring and continuous data analysis by healthcare professionals. This allows early detection of potential issues, triggering alerts and enabling timely intervention. CareMe enhances patient engagement through gamification features that encourage adherence to treatments and promote healthier lifestyles. In addition, encrypted messaging and video consultations allow patients to communicate with healthcare professionals anytime and anywhere.
For healthcare providers, CareMe offers an efficient tool to remotely monitor patients, personalise treatments, and follow up on patient progress through customised questionnaires. It also facilitates the dissemination of relevant medical information, such as care protocols and disease-specific guidance.
The platform is fully interoperable with existing healthcare systems and integrates seamlessly with third-party solutions. Within SYMPHONY, CareMe has already been connected with solutions from other partners, including SOPHEON, INNOVA, and Intellecsia, enabling a more integrated and innovative healthcare ecosystem. The applications are available on Google Play and Apple Store in Spain via https://caremeathome.com/.
With CareMe, healthcare becomes more accessible, proactive, and connected. The platform empowers patients to actively manage their health while providing professionals with reliable data and advanced digital tools. CareMe appears to be a fundamental tool in circumstances where links between patients and doctors are broken, particularly in situations where physical access to healthcare is restricted, such as during pandemic-related lockdowns.
