Changing of the guard in ITEA Vice-Chairmanship
Jean-Pierre Lacotte, ITEA's current Vice-Chairman will be leaving ITEA. Gérard Roucairol will succeed him in this post per 1 July 2005.
Jean-Pierre Lacotte was ITEA's Vice-Chairman since January 2003. As Jean-Pierre is - next to his position in ITEA and his position of Director for European Advance Projects Coordination at THOMSON R&I - heavily involved as the Chairman of the French HDTV platform, he will be leaving ITEA.
We certainly regret to see him leaving. We thank him for his very valuable contributions to the current ITEA programme and the definition of the follow-up programme ITEA 2.
Gérard Roucairol will succeed him in this post per 1 July 2005.
Gérard is currently Chief Scientist and Member of the Executive Committee of Groupe Bull. Prior to that he held various positions in managing R&D, Software Business and Technology Strategy. Before joining Bull he was Professor at Paris-Sud University and head of its Computer Science Laboratory. Besides his activity at Bull, Gérard Roucairol was Chairman of the French national initiative RNTL to support cooperative software R&E between industry and academia, from which he is stepping down as he takes on his new role in ITEA.
