PPSL® Pôle Pilote de Sécurité Locale experimenting with innovative technologies for urban safety Security forces (national or local police, gendarmerie and private security companies) and rescue services (fire brigade, ambulance service, civil defence, etc.) are increasingly required to work together in the field. The coordination of these services is therefore ever more necessary, possibly even vital, for missions ranging from day to day prevention and safety to the management of exceptional events (protests or major crises).  On the basis of this observation, the French Ministry of the Interior supported the initiative to create an open structure to test and experiment future technologies for security and rescue services, in Elancourt, Yvelines.

PPSL acts as a getaway between the designers of tomorrow's solutions (SMEs, big industry, academic laboratories) and the end-users to improve knowledge sharing and avoid off-key solutions. It is also an international showcase for all companies that wish to demonstrate their technological expertise, offering them an access to the export market.
