SurgiQual Institute
SurgiQual Institute is a French SME which develops and sells Computer Assisted Surgery (CAS) systems that combine state-of-the-art generic components with innovative smart tools ranging from 3D localizers to robots. SQI is placed at the cross-over of multidisciplinary problematic, ranging from mathematics or material sciences to the theoretical modeling of a specific surgical practice. This multi-disciplinarity is depicted by the various and complementary competences and know-how of the existing R&D team. At present, SQI employs 16 people, mainly engineers with strong experience in national and European R&D projects. These projects had successful results on innovative components, either hardware (SMI, SurgiCobot, SurgiMag, MI3) or software (SMI, NavPerop, MMM).
One main component of SQI’s offer is its CAS dedicated Software Development Kit (SDK), fully designed and developed by the company. It offers a wide range of functionalities covering from low-level items, like hardware management or mathematic optimization, to high level items, like medical imaging registration or state machine implementation. This SDK is the base of all software research development that are committed to SQI. It already demonstrated its relevance and effectiveness in some ‘in progress’ research projects.
