University of Murcia
The University of Murcia is a big-sized University with approximately 36.000 students and 3.500 staff members. For the Faculty of Informatics, the ANTS research group will participate in this project. The ANTS group is a subdivision of the Intelligent Systems Group, from the Department of Communications and Information Engineering with experience in security in network infrastructure and the integration of intelligent techniques in datamining and agents based middlewares for datafusion. Also relevant to this project is the experience on sensor and communication based devices. UMU has a deep knowledge in security services, control access, domotics, inhome networking and smartcards developments, participating in EU projects like ITEA-ANSO or Celtic-VIDIOS. Indeed UMU has been collaborating in different national and international research projects, and establishing collaborations with important international research institutions. UMU has participated in the EURO6IX project IST-2001-32161 that has as main objective the development of an European IPv6 Backbone and the evaluation of different protocols and services. Within the services and protocols University of Murcia will be primary concerned in the security field. Also in the 6POWER project IST-2001-37613 that evaluated the integration of IPv6 services mainly in-home networking, domotics, and multicast in the Power Line technology. We have also participated now in two projects under the IST initiative, called COLAB (IST-2000-25035) and ITCOLE (IST-2000-26249) where we are trying to find common solutions to problems that arise in asynchronous and synchronous communications and collaborations.
