Technikon
In the beginning, there was the industry’s need for professional planning and handling of international research projects. It was in 1999, when “Technikon” was founded. Their aim was to satisfy the industry’s need especially by putting forthcoming knowledge into practice.
Today there are numerous pieces of office furniture and more specialists in Technikon’s beautiful office building in the heart of Villach’s city centre. Out of 14 employees, ten are female. In the male-dominated business-sector (97%) this exception to the rule has contributed considerably to the team’s outstanding success. During the search for qualified personnel with excellent language skills, it was mainly women who met the requirements. An assumed disadvantage soon turned out to be a competitive advantage: woman’s social competence in a male-dominated industry results in a more constructive atmosphere in meetings, and thus facilitates success. According to the European Commission’s data, Technikon has nationally and internationally the highest quotes for successful projects as private SME coordinator in the ICT sector.
