ICT 2010 - ‘Digitally driven’, 27-29 September 2010
EUREKA participated with a stand providing information about the latest highlights in the ICT field at this important event organised by the European Commission under the auspices of the Belgian Presidency of the EU. The EUREKA ITEA 2 CANTATA project showcased its advanced and automatic analysis of digital video content to improve surveillance, speed medical diagnosis in life-threatening situations and provide consumers with fast access to preferred home entertainment material.
The ICT event is one of Europe's largest forums for information and communication (ICT) research and innovation. It showcased over 100 ground-breaking ICT research projects funded by the EU attracting researchers, business people, investors, and high-level policy makers to discuss ICTs' impact on everyday life and the importance of public funding and support in ICT research and innovation. The event was opened by keynote speeches from Commissioners Neelie Kroes, Máire Geoghegan-Quinn, Prime Minister Yves Leterme, MEP Silvana Koch-Mehrin and a VIP debate featuring CEOs from international companies.
