At this year’s ITEA and ARTEMIS Co-summit, which took place in Paris on 30-31 October 2012, two projects of Fraunhofer FOKUS were granted awards. The project DIAMONDS received the ITEA Exhibition Award 2012 for the understandable and appealing display of the project goals and achievements. This award is granted according to votes cast by visitors and was given to DIAMONDS for the second time in a row – the project had also won at the Co-summit 2011 in Helsinki. DIAMONDS is led by Prof. Dr. Ina Schieferdecker, who is involved in the project with the competence center MOTION. The European project is concerned with model-based software testing: The goal is to develop models for the validation of safety-critical software systems. Application fields, which were presented at the ITEA exhibition, are, amongst others, the banking sector as well as automotive and railway technologies.
The project MODELISAR received the silver ITEA Achievement Award. In this project, to which the competence center QUEST is contributing, the Modelica simulation environment and the automative standard AUTOSAR are combined. At the award ceremony, the high degree of innovation and business impact of the MODELISAR project on the automotive industry were especially pointed out.
